Position Details

Job Title: InternalAudit Manager

Reporting Line: Board Chairman (Functionally); ChiefExecutive Officer (Administratively)

Job Summary:

To provideindependent, objective assurance and advisory services that enhance thehospitals operational effectiveness, risk management, and governanceframeworks. It supports the achievement of institutional goals by evaluatinginternal controls, identifying areas of improvement, and recommendingactionable solutions that strengthen compliance and performance. Throughsystematic audit planning, execution, and reporting, the role ensurestransparency, accountability, and alignment with regulatory standards and bestpractices.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implementrisk-based audit plans.
  • Conduct financial,operational, and compliance audits.
  • Evaluate internalcontrols, risk management, and governance processes.
  • Review financial recordsfor accuracy and compliance.
  • Prepare audit reports andfollow up on implementation of recommendations.

Qualifications & Experience

  • A Bachelors degree in BusinessAdministration, Economics, Finance, Accounting, or other business-related fieldfrom a recognized institution.
  • A Masters Degree in the relevant field.
  • Certified Public Accountant(CPA-K)
  • Registered member of any of thefollowing professional bodies: Institute of Certified Public Accountants ofKenya (ICPAK) or Institute of Internal Auditors (IIA) or Information SystemsAudit Control Association (ISACA) in good standing.
  • A minimumof eight (8) years relevant experience, three (3) of which should be at amanagerial position, preferably in a healthcare setting.

Technical & BehaviouralCompetencies

  • Strong expertise inrisk-based auditing, IFRS, Government Internal Audit Standards (GIAS), andhealthcare regulatory requirements.
  • Proficiency in dataanalytics and audit tools, with the ability to assess internal controls,governance, and risk management systems.
  • High levels of integrity,confidentiality, and sound professional judgment, with the ability to workindependently in high-stake environments.
  • Excellent communication,organizational, and leadership skills, with the ability to collaborateeffectively and manage multiple priorities.
