Renal Unit / Haemodyalisis

The Hospital renal unit caters for patients whose kidneys have failed and thus require haemodyalisis. The Renal Unit commenced on 12/04/2011 and functions as an outpatient facility which also caters for patients from other hospitals

The hospital Renal Unit operates 3 dialysis machines which are controlled by well-trained nurses.

All clients undergo predialysis screening, which includes HIV, Hepatitis B and Hepatitis C testing and the screens are repeated every 3 months. Routine blood tests include Total Blood Count, Urea Electrolytes, Creatinine, Calcium, Albumen and Phosphorous. Routine tests are carried out every month and when in need.

The seats in the Renal Unit are client controlled for client comfort. The staffing of the unit is adequate and has a nephrologist within.

We offer a meal after dialysis and a snack during dialysis at a cost of Kshs. 7,000. This is all-inclusive in the dialysis package.

NHIF members can now benefit with a package of Kshs 2,500 NHIF rebate per session for two sessions in a week.
